"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." - Picasso
Joanne grew up in Manila, where she was raised on a steady diet of Mel Brooks, Monty Python, MAD Magazine, Mang Ambo, and Marvel Comics (thanks, Dad).
She went to the US to study business, and has spent the past few years around America, Europe, and Asia working in management consulting and at two start-ups (one selling furniture and home decor online, and the other entertainment for mobile devices). Creating slides for clients and whiteboarding with entrepreneurs has heavily influenced her doodles.
She’s currently working on a web comic, graphic novel, children’s book, and documenting her foray back into art in her blog.
